  • dr-newswander

    Dr. Newswander

    Dr. Newswander originally hails from Utah, where he began his studies as a pre-med student at Utah State University. After graduating, he followed his passion for podiatry at the California College of Podiatric Medicine. With certification in hand, Dr. Newswander completed a residency at Carl T. Hayden VA Hospital in Phoenix before opening his own practice in 2003. His research has been featured in numerous medical publications, and he has shared his expertise in several presentations and lectures around the state. Dr. Newswander is actively involved with the education process and is a Surgical Attending Physician for the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He’s also a preceptor for the Midwestern University Medical School. Along with his community and professional presence, Dr. Newswander has received many certifications and awards from professional and academic associations, including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He received the Phoenix’s Top Docs award and the Guardian Angel award from Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Dr. Newswander was also recently named the Chief of Surgery at Gilbert Hospital.

    Dr. Clement

    Dr. Clement grew up in Arizona and graduated from Mesa Mountain View High School in 1990. He did undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and received his professional degree from The California College of Podiatric Medicine. After completing residency training through the VA and Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, he worked as a civilian Staff Podiatric Surgeon at the Madigan Army Medical Center. His duties included training resident surgeons and serving as the Assistant Clinic Chief for the Podiatry Service, where he was honored to treat returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan for a variety of foot and ankle injuries, including many soldiers with combat trauma.

    After 15 years away from home, Dr. Clement returned to Arizona to begin private practice. In addition to general experience treating everything from ingrown nails to broken bones in patients of all ages, he has unique experience working with geriatric populations in East Mesa, diabetic patients suffering from chronic wounds, and underserved populations in Central and South Phoenix. As a result of his hard work, he recently became Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and was added as a member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

    Dr. Clement lives in Mesa with his wife, four children, two dogs, two parakeets, two fish, and too many scorpions.

    Dr. Andersen

    Dr. Andersen was born and raised in Phoenix. He is an alumnus of Arizona State University, where he pursued a degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in business and biology. Following his time at ASU, he spent the next four years at Des Moines University in Iowa, where he earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Andersen then completed his residency training at Southern Arizona VA Health Care Systems (SAVAHCS) in Tucson. During his three-year residency program, he received comprehensive training in trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, and diabetic foot management. Dr. Andersen is excited to be the newest member of the Impression Foot & Ankle team.
